KEHILLA COMMUNITY SYNAGOGUE

Olivia & Jacob will lead the Saturday morning service at Kehilla Community Synagogue. If you’d like to learn more about Kehilla, please click here.

What is "B'nai Mitzvah"?

A Jewish coming of age ceremony, "bar" or son of and "bat" daughter of are combined for our twins to be "b'nai" children of "Mitzvah" or commandment also thought of as a good deed. Jacob and Olivia have been studying for over three years in preparation for this day. They have learned to lead a prayer service, to chant "Torah" (the Hebrew bible) and deepened their connection with Judaism.

Arrival and Departure?

Please arrive at the synagogue (or on Zoom) before 10am to find seating and settle in. Parking can be tricky, do read street signs. The service will last more than two hours, and will be immediately followed by a Kiddush. The event will conclude by 2pm.

What should I wear?

For the service, be both comfortable and respectful. The community celebrates diversity though it's a great opportunity to dress up. Kehilla welcomes everyone - all faiths, all genders, all ages. etc.

What is "Kiddush"?

"Kiddush" means sanctification and refers to the blessing of the wine/grape juice. This term is commonly used for the community reception. In this case a light lunch held downstairs from the sanctuary.
